Her voice choked with emotion, Marija continued, "We even attempted to escape through the lavatory, only to discover barred windows. I somehow managed to get out. I fell down the stairs, and they ran over me, trod on me... I barely survived and could scarcely breathe."

The government has responded by launching nationwide inspections of nightlife venues across the country.
